About Cool Story Creative

 Cool Story Creative is wood carving and mixed media artists Zac and Sarah Boyd, husband and
wife duo, based out of Andover, MN. It was founded in 2020 during the Covid pandemic after Zac was furloughed from his full-time job as a project manager. Zac, a lifelong musician and creative type, began making custom light boxes and signs using a small scroll saw, a Cricut vinyl
cutter and other small hand tools. It eventually grew into utilizing a CNC, laser engraver and other creative
tools. His wife Sarah, an avid painter and photographer, joined Zac in this adventure shortly thereafter. Cool Story Creative has since evolved from making custom light boxes to creating one of kind pieces of art using predominantly digital design, wood, and acrylic paint.
Custom pieces all start with a digital design and are then carved using a CNC machine. Completed pieces range from wood carvings that are painted, sanded down, and
finished to create an art piece that shows off the natural looking beauty of the wood, to those that are carved, painted using acrylic paint, and finished to highlight the detail and texture in the carvings. When Zac and Sarah are not creating one-of-a-kind art pieces for Cool Story Creative, you can find Zac playing his guitar and writing music, Sarah re-imaging one of the rooms in their home or
searching for her misplaced coffee mug. The couple also enjoy spending time with their four beautiful daughters.
